Road system

The main roads here are the E39 running down from Trondheim, Bergen and Stavanger to Kristiansand (and then over to Denmark) and the E18 from Kristiansand up to Oslo.  RV 9 runs north through Evje and Setesdal, RV 41 runs north-north-east inland into Telemark and RV 42 runs coast to coast east-west inland, from Egersund to Arendal

Car ferries

A ferry links the island of Hydra to the mainland near Flekkefjord.
International ferries link Denmark to Egersund (and Bergen) and also several ferries between Kristiansand and Denmark or England.

Fast boats

There are no fast boat services in this area.

Railway

There is a line from Stavanger to Kristiansand that calls at Egersund along the way.
The line then continues up to Oslo to the north east.

Bus and coach services

Buses and longer-distance coach services link within and beyond the area.

Airports

Kristiansand (Kjevik) airport is just east of Kristiansand and Sandefjord (Torp) airport is to the north east, between Kristiansand and Oslo.
Oslo (Gardemoen) airport is about 5 hours drive to the north east, or  much quicker by train.
