Road system

The E39 and RV 44 are the main north-south roads: the E39 is faster and some distance inland, the RV44 stays closer to the coast and can be a more interesting drive. RV 45 (to Sinnes in Sirdal) and RV 42 (to Tonstad in Sirdal and beyond) are the main roads inland. A good network of smaller roads becomes more limited towards the eastern edge of the area, as the mountains make their mark on the scenery.

Car ferries

There are no ferry services in this region, apart from international services to Denmark, from Egersund.

Fast boats

There are no fast boat services in this region, although there are quite a few small harbours used by fishermen and pleasure craft.
