Getting here:

You can fly to Kristiansand or arrive on a ferry from Denmark

Hovden

Hovden is one of the main ski destinations from Kristiansand - it is a 200 km drive north up the RV 9 road through Setesdal to get there. There is a regular bus service. Several hotels, plus many apartments and hyttes (cabins).
The skisenter is one of the biggest in south Norway, and is expanding (2008 and 2011))

Byglandsfjord:

This small skisenter is about 100 km up RV9 - halfway to Hovden. One steep main slope, beginners slope at the top and some cross-country trails over the tops as well. One hotel.

Sirdal

The 4 skisenters of Sirdal - plus lots of cross-country trails - are about 4 hours away.
Take the E 39 north towards Egersund, then RV 42 to Tonstad and north up Sirdalen.

Telemark:

Rauland and Lifjell are also reached fairly easily
