Hellvik to Egersund PathA pretty 4.5km (each way) gravel trail, part of The North Sea Cycle Route, which meanders along beside the railway line, through woodland, beside several lakes and through hills. It is very suitable for all ages for walking or cycling. |

The
trail starts at Hellvik railway station and runs eastwards towards Egersund.
It was extended all the way to Egersund (approx 8km) in 2005.
This trip is very easily extended into a much longer walk or cycle ride by joining the 7km Old Post Road trail at the Hegrestad farms, which are 3.3km from Hellvik station. Map reference: Rogaland Fylkeskart (scale 1: 200 000): 192 869 to 223 852 By car: Drive south from Stavanger on E39, take RV42 exit to Egersund then right on RV44 (back towards Stavanger) for 20km to Hellvik. Parking: Close to Hellvik railway station By train: Local train from Stavanger to Hellvik Distance from Stavanger: 80 km |
