From
the small market town of Odda, drive up the western side of the Fjord on
the FV 550 past the industrial area and tunnel under the mountain to western
Hardanger past fruit orchards and views across the fjord. On arrival at
Utne - with Utne hotel - take the
ferry eastwards to Kinsarvik - with Kinsarvik
fjord hotel. Take the RV 13 south where the side of the valley is lined with fruit orchards and the views across to the glacier above the mountains on the other side are quite stunning and unforgettable. Through Loftus - with the impressive Hotel Ullensvang - and Tyssedal back to Odda again. From Odda you can go south then east for Telemark and Agder or west for Rogaland including Haugesund and Stavanger. From Kinsarvik you can go east over Hardangervidda to Geilo, west to Bergen or north to Voss and Sognefjord beyond.
