Stavanger Markets

Come and enjoy Stavangers bustling colourful markets well worth a visit. The outdoor farmers' market beside the cathedral, has many stalls selling fruit, flowers and vegetables. The indoor fish market at the end of the harbour has a few stalls with a good selection of fish and seafood, both local and imported frozen.

Strawberries, flowers, vegetables, cruise ships and sunshine Buy a punnet of delicious local strawberries and go and eat them on the steps by the cathedral near the statue of the elegantly dressed author, Alexander L. Kielland. Or buy a bag of cooked prawns and sit beside the guest harbour watching small boats to-ing and fro-ing!
After refreshments, continue walking around the harbour on the Blue Promenade perhaps or wander up into the old town, Gamle Stavanger.
