Stavanger 2008 European Capital of Culture opening ceremonies

The Stavanger region of Norway is the (non-EU) European Capital of culture in 2008 - meaning not just Stavanger but Rogaland county, including Sandnes, Egersund, Haugesund, Sauda, the Ryfylke, Jaeren and areas around.

Opening ceremonies - or parties if you prefer - were held around the region on January 11th, with the main event in Stavanger on the 12th January.
