On
Friday 11th January there were parties, parades and excitement in many towns
across the region. In Sandnes from 17.30 the ceremony included the switching
on of part of the "Watercolours"
light project. On Saturday 12 January 2008 the main parade in Stavanger started at 15.00 from various points, with local groups joining French performers and aerial cyclists, plus fireworks to follow - all watched by the King and Queen, plus around 60,000 others.
