Stavanger Travel had a good year in 2007
4 January 2008 Stavanger Travel had another good year in 2007, with visitors to the site, page views etc up around 200% compared with 2006. In December we also passed the half-million mark for advert views, and are on track to pass a million during 2008. Thank you to all the people who enjoyed using the site in 2007, and especially to those of you who asked us questions and helped improve the information on the site. Growing Our 10's of thousands of visitors a month have many different interests, but we have seen that our redesigned Ski guide, Stavanger restaurant guides, and Trips out / activity guides have really grown fast in the last year, especially the new touring pages that suggest places to stay, like the Stavanger - Ryfylke - Sauda - Setesdal - Sirdal - Stavanger page. We are also launching new sites, focussed on particular areas or interests. The first 2 of these launched in December: www.stavangertravel.co.uk and www.stavanger.travel Adverts We show adverts on many pages, but maximum one advert, not on main pages like the homepage, and not to users who don't want images (like search engines). Advertisers pay per 1000 page views and the price depends on which part of the site the page is in, and other factors. We passed the 500,000th advert over Christmas and expect to pass 1,000,000 during 2008. Let us know if you would like to become an advertiser. Questions and feedback We get many questions on many subjects during the year, and we enjoy giving you the answers - or finding the answer if necessary. Thanks to Monika from the USA and many others for the questions about the hike to Pulpit rock (Preikestolen) and also the difference between the Pulpit Rock hike, and the Lysefjord boat trip, from which you can see pulpit rock. These pages with the information are now very popular, and other answers can be found on our Frequently Asked Questions / Help page. We are happy to answer these questions - for free of course.
