This
shopping area is so nicely compact, easy and interesting to walk around,
if only to window shop or simply look at the buildings. It is approximately
a circular area with the town square and modern Culture House (library,
cinema and childrens' museum) right in the middle. Scattered at different ends are also three small, very nice shopping malls, Arkaden, Blaa Magasin and Torget Terrasse. Saturday mornings are typically very lively and festive especially in the summer. Check shop opening times, especially Saturdays; they may be much shorter than at home. Shops are closed on Sunday in Norway. Map reference: Kartblad 1212IV Stavanger, 122 415 Walk up past the farmers' market behind the row of coloured houses on the harbour front. Parking: Central carparks Nearby hotels include Skagen Brygge Hotell, Havly Hotel, Victoria hotel and Thon Hotel Maritim, with many other hotels in Stavanger. Distance from Stavanger: 0 km |
