Ullandhaug tower viewpoint
Ullandhaug
tower is visible all around the area, which makes it a useful landmark,
but from the lower platform that is accessible to the public you can see
for miles. |

The
tower is owned by Telenor the telephone and communications company, and
it is not possible for the public to access the upper floors of the tower. On Sundays there is a cafe open inside selling coffee and waffles for sightseers and walkers, with a picnic bench outside. Bring a map and locate the hills that are pointed out by the dial supplied by Stavanger Turistforening, the organisation that promotes hiking in the area. There is a walk around the tower that takes an hour, plus many trails in Sormarka woodland. The Iron age farm and Botanical gardens are also close by.
