Hemsedal alpine skiing
Hemsedal
is definitely one of the best ski resorts in Scandinavia, with great runs
and lifts that are getting better every year, and unrivalled facilities
for children. |

There
are 19 lifts, including 4 express chair lifts, and 42 km of runs of varying
standard. The nursery slopes are separate from the main runs, with 4 button
lifts and a conveyer belt lift for really small beginners.
There is a good snow park and fairly good off-piste options - but not if there has not been enough snowfall. Intermediate skiers can certainly keep themselves busy for a week getting to know the runs and stretching themselves. At the bottom is a good apres-ski scene. Map reference: By car: Come north up RV 52 from Gol, or south from the E 16 and Sogne Parking: Several large carparks around the bottom of the slopes By bus: Bus service from Gol in Hallingdal 30 km from here, and trains stop in Gol on the main Bergen Oslo railway line. Distance from Stavanger: 430 km Distance from Gol: 30 km Distance from Geilo: 80 km |
