Tjørhomfjellet family skiing in Sirdal - Huldreheimen

The Huldreheimen side of Tjorhomfjellet is a small and family-friendly area with a beginners slope, free rope tow, and button lift. It is protected from the wind and is almost never forced to close - even if other ski lifts in Sirdal are.
The 4 seat express chairlift is the other side of the centre, with a range of slopes.

Note that there is no connection with Ålsheia Alpint in 2012!!

there is a free rope tow for beginners This is a great place to come as a family with children just learning to ski - a fun nursery slope area, and short runs down. Sirdal ski and snowboard school is also based here. Use of the rope-tow is free.
There is also a free sledging - akebrett - area for those who want fun in the snow separate from skiers and boarders.
If you want to sit by a fire under cover, there is a LAVVO tent to warm up or chill out in.
There is also the 4 chair lift going higher up the mountain, which is more of a challenge for experienced skiers - especially if you like going off-piste. TIP: get the number for the ski patrol from the ski hire before you set out - then you can call if help is needed.
There are cross-country ski tracks taking you across the lake to Ålsheia and Sinnes, and the varying cross-country ski loops of Furuåsen are close by.
