Stavanger area - including Sandnes and the north Jaeren peninsular

The Stavanger area is very similar to the South Jaeren - beaches, sand-dunes and farms, except that it also includes Stavanger, Sandnes, Sola (where the airport is) and Randaberg. The urban areas melt into the countryside, with many people being able to walk from their homes to a lake or the sea or some other place to relax. If you don't want to travel far then this area has everything except the fjords and mountains - and they are a short boat or car journey away. Stavanger has a great choice of hotels, restaurants, shops, museums and activities of any kind - with Sandnes another busy town just ten minutes away by train.
Randaberg and Sola are quieter, with lovely beaches and rural surroundings.
